so i slavaged this staff that was worth 89 gold at merchant and i got 6 rolls of parchment off it then i did it on another 3 preciouse items and got nothing good and ive done it a few more times but nothing good so i just sell them to merchant now but i wanna what should i do with preciouse items? |

the "Precious" mod on an item just means it has increased resale value. It has nothing to do with quality and/or quantity of salvage ites you get from an item if you salvage it.
You just got "lucky" on that 1 item which salvaged into something that sold for more than the base item was worth. Every item (except quest & collector items) can be salvaged into 3 different things - generally you will get 1 item, but sometimes you get the other item.. and if you use an Expert Salvage Kit you have a chance of getting the 3rd item that can be salvaged from the item... or you'll just get something ordinary. well actually it's more than 3 things.. but to demonstrate.. Ash field Trappings -> Normal Salvage Kit = bone, hide or cloth Expert Salvage Kit = silk or linen Now if you use a normal salvage kit you will only ever get 1 of those 3 craft materials, whereas if you use a ESK you have a *chance* of getting either silk or linen... or 1 of the 3 materials only available to NSK's. so really, your friend is just wasting time and money salvaging "precious" items.. unless he doesn't need gold anymore and craft materials are more important. But the "Precious" mod doesn't increase quantity or quality of what you get when you salvage it. |
